A larger home might no make sense if your family is shrinking. Stretching your budget to meet larger house payments might not be wise if you are saving for your children’s college, or your own retirement.
#2 Don’t limit yourself to just one neighborhood (when you are looking for a new home). Take the time to look at a couple different areas. You might be pleasantly surprised.
#3 Consider the advantages of moving over improving. A lot of times people are still unhappy with their home, after going through the home improvement process and decide to move in 2-3 years, without being able to recoup the home improvement costs.
